And sometimes the best place to start is at the beginning.

Studio 36 started out in our kitchen, in Hinton Alberta at the end of 2010. Although, back then we were known as Hand Maid Soaps. We started with a couple of unscented batches, lots of too-scratchy batches, and even the odd batch that was a complete fail. By 2011 our house had been taken over by soap that was drying, soap that needed cutting, soap that was curing, soap molds that needed washing, and about a thousand stock pots. (Seriously, yes, I do use them all).

In 2014 I took a step away from making soap on the larger scale and chose to focus on improving my craft, researching all the things I could, and perfecting my skills in bath and body products. Mostly this was because I had my darling sweet daughter and 3 AM nursing sessions are best spent reading. 

I'm not exaggerating when I say, "Thousands of recipes and batches later," because I quite literally, have made thousands of things. Ranging from lotions, to lip balms, soaps, shampoo bars, deodorant, tooth powder, cuticle creams, foot balms, muscle salves, shave creams, beard oils, facial care (serums, cleansers, moisturizers, masques), body butter, body scrubs - and even more projects which all helped me to understand that what we put on our bodies, is just as important as what we put in them.

Bath and body is my passion. 

Trial and error has been the foundation of my business. Followed closely by willing participants who have tested every single product I've ever made. I have a great support network team of friends, family, and long-time customers who have been essential to my creating and tweaking these products to be what they are today.
